Requirements
macOS, Linux and Windows.
A browser: Chrome, Chromium, Edge or Brave
Latis does not bundle a web engine. It drives one you already have to render artifacts, the charts, tables, reports and clickable pages an agent publishes to you, in a pane beside the outline. Google Chrome, Chromium, Microsoft Edge and Brave all satisfy this, found in their usual install locations. If yours lives somewhere unusual, point LATIS_CHROME at the executable:
LATIS_CHROME=/opt/chromium/chrome
Install one. Without a browser nothing errors: an artifact opens in your default browser instead, served by Latis, and renders there. What you lose is the half that made it an interface rather than a file. In the pane a page can leave a comment, dispatch an agent, read the outline and save a new version of itself. In another window it can do none of that, so the page can talk to you and cannot talk back.
Latis needs a browser, and without one an artifact is a page in someone else's window rather than a document in your workspace.
